Possible in Impossible

At some point in their lives, everyone wishes to be someone unique, someone influential. Who hasn’t wished to be the one to hit the game-winning home run? Who hasn’t imagined themselves as the homecoming queen? How often have we wished to be wealthy, successful, or content in our relationships?

We frequently have lofty goals and expectations. Unfortunately, our dreams and aspirations tend to build dust in our attics—a regrettable turn of circumstances in our lives. We get caught up in the routine of day-to-day existence rather than embarking on exciting journeys toward self-actualization.

But, guess what? Life could be so much better if we just learnt to strive higher.

The term impossible is the most common obstacle in defining goals. Most individuals get stuck thinking, “I can’t do this.” It’s too complicated. It’s simply not doable. This is impossible.
If everyone believed that, there would be no inventions, advancements, or breakthroughs in human achievement.

Remember how perplexed scientists were when they examined the bumblebee? They claimed that the bumblebee couldn’t fly in theory. Unfortunately, no one has informed the bumblebee. It flies rather well.

On the other hand, some people have a problem having very BIG dreams and not acting on them. Broken dreams and shattered goals are the results.
You will never be able to break through what you consider impossible if you confine yourself with self-doubt and self-limiting ideas. You will find yourself clutching to the unreachable dream if you stretch too far into the sky without working towards your goal.

Try this activity. Take a piece of paper and jot down some life objectives. Make a list of things you know you can do under one heading. Write the things you might be able to do under a different heading. List the things that are impossible for you to do under another heading.
Now, look at all the headers striving every day to accomplish the goals you know you can do. Check them when you can achieve them. As you slowly can check all of your goals under that heading, try performing the goals under the other header- the one that reads you might be able to do.
As the items you wrote under “things I could do” are accomplished, you can move the goals under “things that are impossible.”
You’ll find that as you go through this process, the things you thought were impossible become more achievable. After all, the seemingly impossible becomes possible.

You see, the trick is to not limit your creativity. It is to set goalsfor yourself and gradually work toward it. Setting a truly unreasonable plan, on the other hand, is not a good idea.
Those who fantasize of achieving a goal without putting in the necessary effort are likely to be disappointed and disillusioned.

If you told someone a hundred years ago that man could walk on the moon, they would laugh at you. If you had told them that you could send mail from here to the other side of the planet in a few seconds, they would claim you were out of your mind. These seemingly unachievable dreams have become realities thanks to pure drive and dedication.

According to Thomas Edison, genius is made up of 1% inspiration and 98% perspiration. Nothing could be more precise, yet labor and discipline are required. But keep in mind that 1% has to be a great desire, not something that can be realized quickly.

Any gym rat will tell you that you can’t make progress unless you push yourself out of your comfort zone. Remember the adage, “No gain without pain?” That is as accurate as it gets.

So go ahead and dream, pal! Don’t be discouraged by your perceived limitations. To achieve your goals, think big and work hard. As you advance up the ladder of success, you’ll see that the seemingly impossible becomes a little more feasible.
